Chronicles of a Marketer

Sherehan Ross

My corporate journey may have officially begun at Nationwide, but the seeds of leadership were sown at the tender age of 16 when I landed a summer internship that set the stage for the professional I am today.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane.

β˜• At Sweet 16, I embarked on my first job adventure as an intern at an Investment firm in Abu Dhabi. My noble duty? Crafting the perfect cup of joe for the wealthy elite.

πŸ“š That fall, I started college at OSU and worked in the Main Library, where I fearlessly tackled towering stacks of books, carefully avoiding the mysterious and haunted 13th floor. πŸ‘»

🍩 As a rebellious 17-year-old, I found myself at Tim Horton’s, spreading joy in the form of donuts to the deserving police force. Sweet justice?

🎧 Next, I embarked on an adventure in the realm of call centers, where my persuasive powers were put to the test to raise funds for an ambitious endeavor – the construction of the magnificent Fisher College of Business campus. Little did I know that a decade later, destiny would bring me back to that very campus for my MBA. Coincidence?

πŸ’ƒ At the age of 18, I embarked on an adventure to the glamorous city of Los Angeles. Why? Well, I had the opportunity to work at the Structure (now Express) store in Beverly Center. Little did I know that I would cross paths with a young Justin Timberlake himself! Talk about starstruck moments in between folding jeans and shirts. πŸ•Ί

🚼 At 19, I worked at a daycare. And got peed on; a lot. It was very short-lived.

πŸ’… At 20 – I was a spa receptionist. As a gatekeeper of relaxation, I reveled in the luxury of being pampered while assisting others in their quest for serenity. Ah, the sweet perks of the job! πŸ’‡β€β™€οΈ

πŸ–₯ At 21, I ventured into the digital realm, selling online courses to businesses.

πŸ›© At the ripe age of 22, I found myself at NetJets. I took on the task of sending bills to the rich and famous, even once mailing Julia Roberts her invoice. Oh, the glamour!

The rest, as they say, is historyβ€”or in my case, it’s all neatly outlined on my LinkedIn profile. πŸ˜‰
